About us
HISTORICAL “CAFFE’ MONTE BALDO" A TAVERN WITH OVER 100 YEARS OF HISTORY

Our historic tavern was born in 1919 from an idea of Mrs. Tazzini, who grew up in a small town in the province of Verona on the slopes of Monte Baldo, a stone’s throw from Lake Garda.
Between the two world wars, what was once a dairy shop became an tavern, keeping a name that would make it popular even outside Verona. The dining room was on the ground floor, while upstairs there were gambling dens, card games and dice games.
In the 60s, during the economic boom, the tavern became a bar and café, changing the name to Caffè Monte Baldo and following the fashions of the time, which saw Verona grappling with more affected lifestyles, after the hard war years.
A complex period for Caffè Monte Baldo arrives between the 90s and 00s, with the succession of multiple managements, the change of customers and the loss of the many bank employees, previously very numerous in this corner of the city.
Since 2003 the property has passed to Gianni Vesentini, who intends to bring the tavern back to its former glory. Accompanied by his son Simone, he brings attention back to wine, aperitifs and high quality cuisine by completely renovating the building.
Today the Caffè Monte Baldo is an unmissable stop on the Veronese food and wine scene. It is frequented by many loyal customers from Verona, Italy and by the many foreign tourists who are immediately conquered by the tasty canapés, the high-level cuisine and the very rich wine list.
